The Command
One of the simplest commands out there, /difficulty allows you to change the difficulty of your Minecraft world in game to one of Minecraft's four difficulty settings: peaceful, easy, normal, and hard. Please note that there are eight variations of this command, but since every command does the same thing as one other, we have included the simpler versions here.
To change the setting to peaceful:
/difficulty p
To change the difficulty to easy:
/difficulty e
To change the difficulty to normal:
/difficulty n
To change the difficulty to hard:
/difficulty h
Not Working?
If this command is not working, check to make sure that you've typed in everything properly, and make sure you're opped so that you have permission to use the command. Commands do not work in Survival worlds unless Cheats are on, in which case you can no longer earn achievements in that world. Please also note that this page is intended for Bedrock Minecraft, and these commands may not work in Java Edition, PS4 Edition, or Xbox 360 Edition.
