Fun Things to do with Commands

Ever wanted to use a command block to have a little fun? Try the following tricks! We will be publishing a new one of these tricks every day until the article is complete. Please note that some of these can destroy your world, so you might want to start a new world first.



The Block Trail

1. Give yourself a repeating command block by typing /give @s repeating_command_block into the chat.
2. Place down the repeating command block in the desired location. MAKE SURE YOU NOTE ITS LOCATION in case things go south.
3. Type "/execute @a ~ ~ ~ fill ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ stone" into the repeating command block. If you want to prank a certain somebody on your world, type "/execute {insert target's gamertag here} ~ ~ ~ fill ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ stone" into the command block instead.
4. Activate the command block using either a lever or by setting the command block to "always active."
5. Try walking somewhere. It can be especially fun if you're in Creative Mode so that you can fly.

The Infinite Death Loop

1. Give yourself a repeating command block by typing /give @s repeating_command_block into the chat.
2. Place down the repeating command block in the desired location. MAKE SURE YOU NOTE ITS LOCATION in case things go south.
3. Type "/kill @a" into the command block. If you're trying to prank/troll/punish somebody, replace @a with the desired target's gamertag like this: /kill examplename
4. Activate the command block using either a lever or by setting the command block to "always active."
5. Set either you gamemode or the target player's gamemode to survival and watch the pandemonium unfold.
6. If you are stuck in the infinite death loop, you have to have really fast reflexes to get out, but it is possible. Here's how you do it. After you're killed, hit the respawn button, and as fast as you can, pause the game. You should have about a quarter second to do so before you die. If you're fast enough, you should die but you'll be in the pause menu. Select "settings," and set "own gamemode" to Creative Mode. Then resume the game and hit the respawn button, and you should respawn in Creative Mode. After testing, the Diamond Squid can confirm that this can be done. If you can't seem to hit the pause button fast enough, get a friend to hit the respawn button while you hit the pause button or vice versa.
