/gamemode

The Command
Another of the easiest commands in Minecraft, the gamemode command allows you to change your gamemode between Survival, Creative, and Adventure (the latter of which is similar to Survival, except that you cannot break or place any blocks unless you have an item that allows you to do so). Please note that there are six variations of this command, but since every command does the same thing as one of these listed below, we have included only the simpler versions here.

To change your gamemode to Adventure, type this in chat:
/gamemode a

To change your gamemode to Creative, type this in chat:
/gamemode c

To change your gamemode to Survival, type this in chat:
/gamemode s

Not Working?
If this command is not working, check to make sure that you've typed in everything properly, and make sure you're opped so that you have permission to use the command. Commands do not work in Survival worlds unless Cheats are on, in which case you can no longer earn achievements in that world. Please also note that this page is intended for Bedrock Minecraft, and these commands may not work in Java Edition, PS4 Edition, or Xbox 360 Edition.
Lastly, if the above directions are unclear, out of date, or otherwise, please take the time to leave a comment down below explaining the issue. We do take the time to review our comments.
