Minecraft Survival Blogging

Welcome to my new Minecraft series, Survival Blogging! In this series, I will be creating a new Minecraft Survival Mode world and blogging about my adventures during the quest to travel to the End and defeat the Ender Dragon. So let's get started!

Update: What Happened?
So if you've been following Minecraft Survival blogging, you'll notice that it came to an abrupt end at Episode 3. So today I'm here with the long overdue explanation.
All things have to come to an end, unfortunately. And that's exactly what happened to Minecraft Survival Blogging. And no, I don't mean the End. Because it appears that this world will never make it there. Instead, it perished along with my eighty-odd other Minecraft worlds when the device that held them dropped and smashed to pieces. But don't worry! We're back in business, Murder Mystery is still in development and only better than ever, and we're going to be releasing the fourth and final episode soon and then starting a new world!

Episode 3: How NOT to Minecraft (or When Things go Wrong)
My spawn point after I reopened the game.
Episode 3 gets off to a bad start when I open my world and a glitch nearly kills me. I had left off my world in a boat, safely tucked away in the water from whatever was lurking in the darkness on land, waiting to kill me. But
You'll pay for what you've done.
when I resume my game, I'm standing on the shore, far away from my boat, which still floats in the water, a good distance from where I'm standing.
I swim back to my boat, ready to get this series back on track,
AAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGG!
but little do I know, it isn't going to be nearly that easy.
I decide to row around the continent I had discovered to pass the time, but I venture too close to a zombie and he hit me. Panicking, I flee in my boat, but I'm still

taking damage.
Why am I taking damage? I'm not starving, and I rowed far away from that zombie!
That's when I realize too late that the zombie is in the boat with me. And so I died. Oops. I respawn back

at the miserable island that I had never hoped to see again, and monsters are everywhere. I rush back to my shelter, only to remember that I stripped it of resources and it is now completely useless, with no

torches or doors to protect me.
So I do the only thing I can think of to do: I start swimming. I swim back to where I died, get revenge on that zombie punk who killed me, salvage what remains of my inventory, and do my

best to pick up where I left off. And then it starts raining.
So I build a shelter, gather wool for a bed, kill some monsters, and go to sleep.
The next morning, I venture out to set up a permanent base and get my Survival Series

moving forward again.
That's when I spot a creeper. I pull out my sword and take a screenshot for my blog. But by the time my screenshot is finished, the creeper is too close for me to make my getaway. And you can guess what happened next.
Sure enough, I died, and after I trekked back to the place where I did so, I was approached by another creeper. And darned if I didn't take another screenshot.
This time, however, I did get away in time, and after nearly starving to death, I finally managed to fix the mess that will forever be known as Survival Blogging: Episode 3.

Episode 2: The Journey for a new Home
Why, hello! You look tasty!
My second episode of my survival series starts with daybreak on day 2.
I step outside and survey the surrounding land, searching for any monsters lurking in the shadows. Seeing none, I decide to go

hunting. After gathering some food and killing the remaining monsters in the area, I decide to focus on the problem at hand: I'm stuck on an island with a limited supply of resources. So I decide to craft a boat and set out to find a new

home. After trying a few options, I realize that this isn't working, and I decide to search the other side of the island.
As night is falling, that's when I see it. Land! And not just any land... continental landmass! (That sounds unnecessarily

geeky.)
I row around it to confirm that it isn't another island, which it isn't, and, happy with my discovery, I save the world and quit for the day.
Check back tomorrow for Episode 3... when things go wrong.
This looks promising...

...but on the other hand, this doesn't.

Episode 1: The First Night
I'm probably going to regret this...
Time to get this party started! I hit the create world button, name the world, and set the difficulty to Hard.
Let's do this!

It's loading...

My spawn point.
And... done! I spawn in the world and assess my surroundings. It's nothing to write home about, so I get to work gathering wood. Soon enough, I have a good amount of wood, and I build a crafting table.
Some coal and a nice, deep cave.
Once that's done, I discover a cave with a good coal supply and get to work mining.
A few minutes later, I've gathered lots of cobblestone from a hole I dug in the side of the cave. I then proceed to cover up

the rest of the cave and mine the coal. I then use a few cobblestone blocks to cover up the depression I dug in the side of the cave, transforming it into my first shelter.
By now it's getting late and the time's wasting, so I use my last

remaining minutes of daylight to go hunting and exploring.
I stumble across a cow, whom I immediately dub "Mr. Cow" (hey, don't judge!) and then promptly kill him.
Inside my shelter. The door is blocked up to
prevent zombies from getting in.
I decide to explore my surroundings, and that's when I discover: I'm on a tiny island and Mr. Cow is my only companion. Or at least he was my only companion.
But night is falling, and I scurry back to my shelter before I get any new companions.
I'm hearing a lot of monster noises...
Since there were no sheep on the island, I can't make a bed, and I am forced to wait out the night inside my shelter.
After a few minutes, I hear the beautiful noise of burning zombies, and I break down the barrier in

front of my door and walk outside. It's daytime, and it's time for day 2.
Check back tomorrow for more Minecraft Survival Blogging!
